Brasilberg - Bitter Brasileiro 1L 42%

Since the 1930s, the German digestive Underberg has also had a cousin from the Amazon in its family of products – Brasilberg. Brasilberg is a unique, expatriate hybrid of the traditional bitter herbal recipe with the addition of Amazonian ingredients, which are sweeter, have a darker colour and are more fruity.

The familiar European bitter ingredients, such as anise and wormwood, grow wild in the Amazon and also in the Atlantic rainforests around Rio de Janeiro – areas full of medicinal herbs that have been popular with the locals for generations.

These Amazonian plants and roots have become the perfect complement to the missing ingredients in the recipe of Paul and Anna Underberg, ultimately giving Brasilberg a more herbal flavour, sweeter than the very anise Underberg.
