MUNDIVIE S.A. - New technologies mean new experiences. Enter the extraordinary world of surround sound with the music of Gary Marlowe and Simon Franglen!
The FMF Echoes of Space concert is an immersive event. We are happy that our company can be part of it! An event that combines electronic film music with a surround sound system. The artists invited to this project have created their own language, blurring the boundaries between symphonic soundtrack, sound engineering, ambient and pop electronic music.
The star of the evening will be Gary Marlowe, a multi-instrumentalist and composer who combines electronic and rock influences with experiments in sound design. Marlowe's most recent work is the soundtrack to Everything Will Change, which uses a mix of fiction and documentary footage to outline a vision of a world on the brink of extinction. The sound palette consists of favourite synthesisers from Marlowe's collection and custom-built percussion instruments.
During the concert, dozens of loudspeakers will be used to surround the audience and create the impression of being immersed in sound. In such an arranged space, the musicians will perform not only fragments of the Everything Will Change soundtrack, but above all songs prepared with a special sound system in mind. The artistic effect will be enhanced by Yamaha/NEXO technology. The use of solutions of this type during live performances is rare. We are dealing with a kind of experiment and blazing a trail - both for the composer, the musicians, the sound engineers, the production and, of course, the audience.
In addition to Gary Marlow's compositions, we will also hear a special piece by Simon Franglen, although this time without the performing musicians, but only played back from the speakers. The composer, known for his work on films by James Cameron, David Cronenberg and David Fincher, decided to present an experimental work Sunrise | Sunset inspired by the landscape of Shanghai and dedicated to the world's highest art gallery. The piece was recorded with four orchestras, a choir and soloists.
Yamaha is the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments. It is 140 years old and has also been involved in professional audio for more than half a century, including 25 years in immersive sound. The latest AFC Image surround mixing system was developed in 2020. The NEXO brand is a French leader in sound reinforcement, part of the Yamaha group.
